Nvidia Launches RTX Spark Superchip at Computex for Laptops and Desktops

Nvidia took the stage at Computex 2026 in Taipei to announce the RTX Spark, a new consumer-grade superchip that combines a next-generation GPU with an integrated AI accelerator on a single die. The chip, built on TSMC's 3-nanometer process, promises to bring workstation-class AI inference performance to gaming laptops and desktops starting at $599.

Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, positioned the RTX Spark as the chip that will make local AI ubiquitous. "Every PC will be an AI PC, but only with RTX Spark will it be a supercomputer on your desk," Huang said during his keynote at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The chip delivers up to 200 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of dedicated AI compute, roughly quadruple the performance of the previous-generation RTX 5070's AI capabilities.

Architecture and Capabilities

The RTX Spark features Nvidia's Blackwell-next GPU architecture paired with a second-generation Tensor Core cluster optimized specifically for small and medium-sized language models. The chip includes 24GB of GDDR8 memory and a dedicated neural processing block that Nvidia calls the "Reasoning Engine." In demonstrations, the RTX Spark ran a 70-billion-parameter model entirely on-device at over 60 tokens per second — performance previously requiring a $10,000 workstation.

Nvidia announced partnerships with every major PC manufacturer — including ASUS, Dell, Lenovo, HP, and MSI — to integrate the RTX Spark into over 150 laptop and desktop designs launching in the second half of 2026. The chip will also be available as a standalone graphics card through Nvidia's traditional add-in-board partners.

Software Ecosystem and Pricing

Alongside the hardware, Nvidia introduced Nvidia AI Workspace, a software suite that lets users run local AI assistants, coding copilots, image generators, and video upscalers with a single click. The suite supports models from Meta's Llama family, Mistral, and Stability AI, with an open plugin architecture for third-party model providers. Huang demonstrated generating a 4K image from a text prompt in under two seconds using Stable Diffusion running entirely on the RTX Spark.

"RTX Spark is not just a graphics card. It's the CPU of the AI generation. Every creative professional, every developer, every gamer will want one." — Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO, Computex 2026

The RTX Spark lineup starts at $599 for the RTX Spark 5060 configuration, with the flagship RTX Spark 5090 priced at $1,499. Laptops featuring the chip are expected to start at $1,199 when they begin shipping in September 2026.
